DOWN/CROWBAR's KIRK WINDSTEIN Auctioning Guitar

September 6, 2006

DOWN/CROWBAR guitarist Kirk Windstein has put one of his guitars up for auction. "I used this guitar on every DOWN show in 2002 (including Ozzfest) as my main axe," Kirk writes on the eBay auction page. "I also recorded the entire CROWBAR 'Lifesblood for the Downtrodden' CD and the soon-to-be-released KINGDOM OF SORROW CD with this guitar. It's got a good bit of road wear, but that's the charm of it. It plays great and sounds fantastic. It's got a Seymour Duncan Invader pickup in the bridge position and sounds super fat. DOWN logo spray painted on back. Comes with hard shell case."

In other news, Windstein has launched his official MySpace page at this location.

DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring Windstein, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist),bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA),and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — is currently "in the writing phase" of the group's third album. An early 2007 release is expected.

Brown previously stated in an online posting that DOWN is currently working on two albums' worth of material while planning a tour of the Pacific Rim and South America. In addition, the band will apparently re-release its classic debut, "Nola" (1995),with Brown on bass, and remaster its follow-up, "Down II" (2002),although it is not presently clear when either of those releases might see the light of day.

DOWN filmed many of the shows on their recent European tour for an upcoming DVD. The band headlined the second stage at the 2002 Ozzfest.
